Duane Hada painting brown trout at Lovefest 2017

COME along to Streamer Lovefest at Dally’s Ozark Fly Fisher on Saturday night and you could walk away with a original piece of Duane Hada artwork honoring Dave Whitlock.

Hada and Whitlock were longtime friends, through fly fishing, art and sharing their love of the natural world through teaching. Duane will be painting live throughout the night, we believe a painting inspired by Whitlock and the river, part of our efforts to celebrate the life and work of Dave who was a friend, mentor and inspiration to so many fly fishers in this region.

Another close friend Davy Wotton will be tying examples of Dave’s larger streamer patterns, designed well before the big streamer game hit the White, to go into our Lovefest Tyers fly box, which will be drawn by one lucky fly fisher Saturday night.

Entry to the Lovefest is free, but we seek donations for the drawings, with proceeds going to Dave’s widow Emily.

Joining the Whitlock ties will be flies from Swedish tyer Andreas Andersson, , RIO Flies designer Brita Fordice and White River fly designers Chad Johnson (MFC), Steve Dally (Rainy’s Premium Flies) and Alex Lafkas (Catch Flies) will be present along with designer and streamer video impresario Brian Wise (MFC).

Umpqua fly designer, Steve Maldonado, demonstrates his unique patterns as fly shows across the country; we will welcome back former Dally’s shop-rat Chris Franzen, and OG lovefest tyer and Sage/RIO rep Jeff Trigg.

The real fun starts at 6:30 pm when doors open.  This is no stuffy tying demonstration; interaction between tyers and attendees is encouraged.

Guests will be enjoying an awesome gumbo from KT’s BBQ, provided by major sponsors Shawnee Supreme Boats, plus beverages from Sweetwater Brewery.

Also up for grabs will be a Sage Payload streamer rod, Yeti Products and more prizes from sponsors including Simms, Orvis, Montana Fly Co Loon products and more..
