NORFORK LAKE MASTER PLAN MEETINGS

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting Norfork Lake Master Plan update workshops Sept. 30 and Oct.1 to share the draft master plan and associated environmental compliance documents with the public. USACE will also collect public comments during the workshops.

Draft Environmental Assessments for the master plan, which evaluate the potential impacts of each alternative, will also be available for review.

The drop-in style workshops are scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 30 and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1. Both workshops will be held at the Arkansas State University Sheid Convention Center, 1600 S. College Street, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Due to COVID protocols, the Sheid Convention Center requires mandatory masking and six- foot social distancing at their venue.

Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided for attendees.
Anyone interested in the future of Norfork Lake is invited to drop in anytime during the workshops which will be staffed by representatives from USACE who are available to answer questions from the public. This will be the final public outreach engagement for the Norfork Lake Master Plan revision process before the master plan revision is complete.
The public’s input may be provided at the workshops or at any time during the public comment period.

The master plan for Norfork Lake is the guidance document that describes how the resources of the lake will be managed in the future and provides the vision for how the lake should look in the future.
