Fly Fishing Film Tour comes to Cotter June 19.

Cotter  5-12-21 — The Cotter-Gassville Chamber of Commerce and Dally’s Ozark Fly Fisher have unveiled the most unique stop for the Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) anywhere, screening the tour showing on Cotter’s Historic Rainbow Bridge, Saturday June 19.

The Eastern Pylon of the nationally known landmark will become the screen for the night with hundreds of fly fishers and friends watching from the natural amphitheater of Big Spring Park under the bridge across the White River.

Cotter-Gassville Chamber president Jason Nazarenko said the event would have a uniquely Cotter flavor.

“What could be more Cotter than sitting under the bridge to watch an evening of entertaining fly-fishing videos on the banks of the White River itself.

“Cotter is known as Trout Capital USA and F3T Under The Bridge will continue to build on our national reputation as a must visit trout fishing destination not just a great fishing river.

Mr. Nazarenko worked closely with the Arkansas Dept. of Health last year to help the   Chamber preview the venue in 2020, screening family classics on the bridge on summer evenings to appreciative, socially distanced audiences. These movies in the park will continue again this year for the community as well.

The F3T has been showing a festival of short fly fishing films to passionate audiences across the US for the past 15 years, running its own screenings and joining with local partners in selected locations.

Dally’s Ozark Fly Fisher manager Steve Dally said he had been looking for a venue locally for a decade, but Mr Nazarenko’s initiative last year opened the door for a tremendous opportunity.

“This is truly going to be a spectacular evening. Under The Bridge is such a unique venue, it is going to capture the imagination of the fly fishing community across the US. Like Dally’s Streamer Lovefest in January, Under The Bridge is going to give the City another event as iconic to the community as the fishery itself.

‘We need events like this to build on our reputation as a bucket list destination for fly fishers, as we are growing our reputation for travelling trout fishers and the infrastructure to host them.”

The event is being sponsored by Dally’s Ozark Fly Fisher and Potter Block Properties.

Tickets ($15 a head) for the event are available online at https://flyfilmtour.com/ and from Dally’s Ozark Fly Fisher and other venues from this weekend. Online Tickets Here
