Whitlock and Wotton to Hall of Fame

White River icons Dave Whitlock and Davy Wotton will be inducted into the Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians’ Hall of Fame on April 18.

Dave will be officially inducted at the function after not being able to attend last year’s ceremony.

Inducted for his many contributions to fly fishing as a conservationist, innovator, fly fisher, fly tier, writer and artist.

 Inducted as a professional fly tyer, tying materials developer, guide and fly fishing industry leader.

The FFMSA is a non-profit, private and independently-owned museum is located in Bryson City, NC. The FFMSA provides a center for learning both the history of fly fishing as well as the arts, the sciences, the crafts and the skills of fly fishing. The purpose of the museum is to capture and preserve the history of fly fishing in the region.

The 5th Annual Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony will be held Saturday, April 18 at the Fryemont Inn.

Dinner tickets are $40 per person and available via flyfishingmuseum.org/fame or 828-488-3681.

A Friday, April 17 a pre-event ‘Lagers with Legends’ fundraiser will be held at Mountain Layers Brewery, 90 Everett Street, beginning at 7 pm. Each inductee will select a beer to be renamed after them during the event, and Mountain Layers will donate $1 per renamed beer sold during the evening. The event will honor the inductees and raise funds for Casting Carolinas, and the Museum. There will be a raffle and silent auction also at this event. No cover charge.
