It’s become a tradition now. Michael Gratz and his crew coming in from Mississippi for a few days fishing.
First it was Charlie (now 12yo) the eldest, last year Lucy (who turned 11 Friday) joined in and this year it was Michael B’s turn (9yo). This is one fish catching, fun having crew. Grandfather Sandy, nephew Jamesen Rees and a very laid back Michael himself round it out.
Last year floodgate releases kept us off the tailwaters, instead having a blast on Crooked Creek. This year the whole crew was chasing trout, Lucy got her first trout (s), before coming over poorly, Charlie score a nice brown and Michael B. took a while to work his way into the whole thing but whacked a bunched on the last day, caught the bug and even asked “so when are you getting me a fly rod”.
Michael B. also got the water flea award for the most time swimming, in the warm waters at the mouth of Crooked Creek.
It was also pretty cool to see the talented Jamesen finally score the big brown he has been chasing on multiple trips, with a 26″ brown with Chad Johnson.
Enjoy the pics, it was sure fun being involved in the making of this/ Thanks to the Gratz crew and our guides: Chad, Ben, Gabe and Kevin.
