No Mercy On Escapee Salmon

Fisheries authorities in Washington State are calling on anglers to help rid coastal pacific waters of jailbreaking Atlantic Salmon.

An estimated 5000 pen reared Atlantic Salmon escaped from a fish farm last month, with the fish farmer involved blaming “exceptionally high tides and currents coinciding with” the solar eclipse.

Now the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is urging the public to harvest as many Atlantic salmon as they can catch. Authorities have no minimum size or maximum harvest on the eight to ten pound invasive salmon
