Great report from our buddy and regular on the White _ Fancher Smith.
The water temps are at or above 52 so the big bass bite is on in the Mid South. With all the rain we have had the farmers can’t get in the field so Bubba Battle, a farmer friend, and I headed out. Bubba only made half the trip so forgive the terrible pic:) All the rain has made for stained water conditions. I started with an olive colored fly but it only produced one small fish so the change was made to white. Within 15 cast we had a 3.75…..white it was for the rest of the day. Thanks to Brian Wise with Flyfishing the Ozarks I had a nice video to follow Chad Johnsons pattern the Sluggo.
Armed with CJ’s Sluggo and 3 hours of time, we landed 7 small fish-less than 3, a 3.75 and the winner for this trip was 8.25! I have a feeling this isn’t the last you will here of the Sluggo this spring
Thanks for everything yall do….patterns, materials, videos etc, Fancher.
Thanks Fancher makes me want to head to the warmwater!
