HERE’s an awesome way to spend a cold January Saturday and finish up with a masterpiece to last a lifetime.

Our friend, guide and master artist Duane Hada is hold his popular Watercolor Class in the fly shop on January 4. Bring along your favorite trout or river scene and Duane will lead you through the process to create a painting worthy of hanging on your office, cabin or lounge.

We have had 3 of these classes now, and over a dozen fly fishers, discovering their hidden artistic talents. Quite honestly all of these would look at home on our walls. It is remarkable how Duane can tap into these talents.

The Class will run from 9am to 4pm with a limit of 8 spots. The fee is $150 for the class, payable in advance. Bring your own painting materials (see the materials list by clicking through) or for $17 extra Duane will furnish all the materials you need

Watercolor Trout Portrait: Here is your opportunity to create your own Classic Trout masterpiece for your home or office, under the guidance of renowned Ozarks painter & guide Duane Hada. Ever catch a special trout (fish of your choice) and wanted to turn it into a memorable piece of fine art. This will be a fun filled “Can’t Fail” workshop that will definitely want to attend. You will create a beautiful original of a fish of your choice, in the time honored classical sporting art style. You will be so proud and impressed with your piece! Bring your own materials or if you are new to art and don’t want to invest a lot of money in materials we will have a good quality basic kit for an additional $17.00. This will provide you with 2 sheets of 16” x 20” 140 lb. watercolor paper-a pointed round #8 & #4 talkon-a set of 4 tubes of professional quality watercolors-mechanical pencil, and a kneaded eraser.

Watercolor River Scene: River Landscape Watercolor Workshop. Here’s a chance for you to paint a beautiful painting of your favorite stretch of the river in watercolor. Instructor Duane Hada will teach you the techniques to be successful in creating a watercolor scene that you will be proud to hang on the wall. Students will do a hands on watercolor painting of a River Scene of their choice in the traditional watercolor style. This has been a very high success workshop under the instruction of professional angling artist Duane Hada. A list of basic supplies will be provided for you. Bring photo reference of your favorite river stretch & paint a memory you’ll be proud of.

· Tube Watercolors—Windsor/Newton best. Cottman-good student grade.

· Ultramarine Blue

· Cadmium Orange Med.

· Cobalt Blue

· Quinacridone Magenta

· Aureolin Yellow

Optional Colors:

· Permanent Rose

· Quinacridone Gold

· Alizrin Crimson

· Pthalo Blue

· Burnt Sienna

· Cerulan Blue

· Violet

· New Gamboge

Palette:

· White non-absorbing plate or covered sectional palette

Brushes:
