The Hopper Bite Continues _ Marc Poulos report

Alex Garnier getting some hopper love on the White River _ Marc Poulos image

FALL is here but there is still some hopper love being shown by those gorgeous White River browns we all love so much.

We had a crew in from Alabama last week who were racking up some nice fish prior to the Fly Fishing Fair, then regular Chris Descher rolled in over the weekend and those guys hit 3 fish from 20” to 22” on Mosh Pit Hoppers.

And then we got the images from Marc Poulos from his day on the White with Rocky Mountain guide Alex Garnier last week. Alex’s season in Colorado is over so he was travelling with his dog camping and fishing and with Marc having a late cancellation we put the two together. And some fun ensued

Colorado fishing guide Alex Garnier had been hearing about the White River from some of his clients for awhile. He finally made it down to try it out for himself and was not disappointed with the good hopper bite that occurred Thursday afternoon.

  • Wow those are some feisty fall browns! Maybe I’ll have to make a venture from Montana to the White River and chase these toads! Cheers
