Dream day at BSD – Davy Wotton

Oh its been good on the White as Davy shares from one day on the water last week …

As we near the last few days at BSD, my favorite haunt many memories of the many trophy fish we have caught spring to mind, particularly the number of Browns this past year not to mention the Bows, the best being the 5 pounder Teresa caught a few weeks back. I grand slam, which we featured some weeks ago and a number of fine cutts all be it they are not as common as they once were at BSD.

My clients this past Friday Frank Carson senior and Frank Carson Jnr from Kansas looked forward to the day with me. Frank Jnr had expressed his wish to catch his first trophy Brown, well no guide in his right mind will guarantee that one, all be it l knew well enough there were a good number in the zone, my main concerns were the erratic schedules of water release. Ideally Browns will feed well at BSD if the water levels are stable and of a given maintained flow rate.

Day started off well with bows coming to the boat regularly. Frank then hooked his first Brown, good fish of 18 ins followed by more fish. Finally he connected with his dream White river trophy, (see pic).

Got the guys also to nail some very nice fish on Flapjack hoppers.

A great day was had by all and l was very happy for Frank that he achieved his dream.
