THE high water flows we have back in the system are offering some great shots the White River’s famed trophy brown trout.
Chad and a couple of buddies Justin Urich and Californian pro bass angler Matt Peters, the son of former NAFF president George Peters, headed out onto the White, after work on Sunday afternoon. As it turned out the fishing was good enough that Chad was still hooting Monday morning when he rocked by the shop.
Eight fish over 20″ with the biggest 25″, 7 of them on fly. Matt was fishing the big swimbaits he is known for on conventional tackle continuing to prove that the swimbaits catch big brown trout as well as bass.
We have been moving plenty of fish in the mornings too, particularly on cloudy days or in low light conditions, plus on any decent push of water through the day.
For this reason we will be offering early starts or late finishes on full and half day trips for either streamer or nymph fishers. Not only will this put you on the best fishing it is a dang good way to beat the heat.
