Musky Country Comes To Mountain River

IF You have become addicted to the challenge of big flies, big rods and slashing predatory takes of big White River brown trout, we have the next frontier, monster Musky in Wisconsin.

Set aside some time on the afternoon of March 23, to come along and meet Musky Country Outfitters guides Brad Bohen and Tim Fischer.  Musky are big, bad and mean and will eat just about anything that swims, flies or paddles along these rivers. That they are the fish of 10,000 casts just adds to the mystique.

Brad and Tim will be tying flies, you really should check out Brad’s Hang Time, and filling you in on the how, when and why you want to join the Musky Tribe targetting these phenomenal predators. The guys will also be showing footage from Robert Thompson’s new film “Zero 2 Hero”  (trailer above) filmed with the Musky Country team.

A bigtime Wisconsin river musky

The Journal has been corresponding with Brad for some years, enjoying his sense of humor, his passion for this elusive fish, his dogs (Penny the setter will be along), and his approach to a fly fishing life. We reckon they will fit right in around here. He also lit a fire to hang a big musky on a fly rod with these guys.

We are putting together a group trip to Hayward Wi. to go fish with Brad, Tim, Lucky and the Musky Country Crew in the second half of the year. Come along on the 23 to sign up for your spot on this trip north.

Ya gotta love a fish that eats flies like that
