A LITTLE slideshow of last weekend’s great Streamer Class with Alex Lafkas.
If the first year’s class was very good, this year’s was superb, even if the browns weren’t on the job during the afternoon. I think we landed half a dozen to 18″ but all the photographers were awaiting better fish.
The morning session was spent in the store, going over equipment, flies (including a tying demonstration), presentations and tactics. We fuelled the crew with Nima’s awardwinning pizza from Gassville, before we hit the White in a flotilla of 4 drift boats. The real focus of the afternoon was to teach the techniques over fishing time, and I think the additional of the group casting demonstration on the riverbank at Rainbow Hole was a highlight everyone appreciated.
Big thanks to all the participants, it seemed like some good friends and fishing buddies were made, and of course to Alex, our Michigan-based mate, who seems like he spends all year dreaming of cold days in bog water on the White.
And we can’t foreget the effort of Chad Johnson, who worked closely with Alex on the class to top the ’10 class, and the other driftboat guides, Marc Poulos, Ben Levin and the Aussie who stepped up and helped out. Thanks to Bill Barksdale and Stan Akey for the use of some of their pics as well.
NB: We are working on some other classes and events through February/March/April including a highly anticipated Davy Wotton tying class. Details Shortly
