Starting Fly Tying Right

  If you want to start off your fly tying the right way, sign up for our beginner fly tying classes with well known local tyer Ron McQuay. Ron has taught hundred of tyers over the years, and we know you will enjoy this class and learn a bunchif you can make it.

Ron’s first fly tying class will be held over 1 1/2 days on January 8-9 at the Mountain River Fly Shop. The cost will be $70, and includes use of materials and equipment as needed. The class will be for 5 students, if there is overflow we will book a second class at a suitable time.

The tying class aims to teach the basic skills to tie local patterns, midge pupa, woolly buggers, Anna K Soft Hackles; sowbugs and to give tyers the techniques to go on and expand their repetoire.

Tyers may need to bring a desk lamp if possible and make arrangements for lunch. Coffee will be provided and soft drinks are available for purchase. Give us a call on 870 435 6166 to sign up for the January class or to put your name down for future classes.
