Bonnie’s Bull Shoals Brown Trout

Bonnie Mobley and last week's brown

Floating at the Bull Shoals Trophy Zone last week I looked up stream to see this dancing brown trout, connected to a fly rod. They drifted past as we headed upstream, the battle locked, at the distance I didn’t recognise regulars Jim and Bonnie Mobley.

They had been in the store the previous day for their annual order of custom flies, a practice we have carried on for the last 3 years, since they came to their favorite go to brown trout pattern. Its a small san juan, tied for some extra durability, and they don’t fish the White without some.

Our boat came closer later, and when I recognised them, I knew immediately what they had taken it on, and asked for the picture. This was one hot, and strong brown trout.

A fly pattern that you have faith in its worth its weight in gold. We are happy to custom tie any flies to your specifications. We can pull together skilled tiers for most salt or freshwater patterns. Normally our minimum is a dozen flies. A fly sample is appreciated or detailed instructions.

Drop in and talk to Chad or Steve.
