Smallie Heaven

Ben Levin with a tremendous Crooked Creek Smallmouth

Holy head-shakin’ smallies Batman. Lookit what landed in the Journal’s inbox this morning from guide Ben Levin. A whole mess of big smallmouth pictures from he and Chad ducking out to Crooked Creek last week while the rest of us were working.

I knew it was a pretty good day when Chad came in, still dripping creek water, talkign at 90 miles an hour with his eyes still all big. The fish were impressive even on the small screen of the camera. And you always have to discount how big fish are when Chad is holding them …… the pics with Ben in them put it into perspective the boys creamed them on poppers early then Clousers.

Just beautiful

Crooked Creek Report 6/29/10

Crooked Creek has been fishing great early in the morning in this hot weather. Daylight to noon, and then again in the late evening are the best times right now. Chad and I have been catching some great smallmouths on popping bugs, surface minnows, and other topwater patterns. And the takes have been explosive! Clousers have been great too later in the morning when the topwater action slows down. Get out with us early and take advantage of a great alternative to high water fishing _ Ben Levin

If you want to join in the fun on Crooked Creek give us a call in the shop on 870 435 6166. Now enjoy the rest of the pics
