White River Brown Trout Double
THE THANKSGIVING Holiday weekend promises to be spectacular if you can make it onto the White or Norfork. Thwe forecast is great, hitting 60 for Saturday, with just a few showers moving in to close the weekend and the fishing has been very good.
We had made something of a Thanksgiving tradition to hit Dry Run Creek as well with the kids and the fishing there at this time of year is truly phenomenal. Make the most of this warm fall while you can.
WHITE RIVER: Flows have been relatively consistent between 2000 cfs and 6000 cfs. Great water if you have a watercraft of any description. Float and wade, or drift fishing have been very good.
But if you are just planning on wading there have still been opportunities at Rim Shoals, by getting shuttled to the islands, upstream of the Wildcat Access has been popular, and we have seen guys wading at state park , White Hole and Three Chutes on the lower levels.
Pink-hued Y2Ks and egg patterns have been very good, as have San Juan and Dynamite Worms. In the worms try hot pink and red. Whitetail Midges and HotHead Midges have been very good. We are also hearing of some BWO hatches coming off.
NORFORK: Wading opportunities have been much reduced this week with a cracked floodgate being used to help ease DO issues with the water throuh the turbines.
