Fishing Report 9-29-09
Low flows, lots of fish means big smiles. All our guides have been spending plenty of time on the water last week and having a hoot. The water is still a touch cloudy at Rim but that’s not stopping the fish hammering midges. Looks like being a great weekend with Conclave, and some fine fishing
New TFO Lineup at Conclave
Come along to Conclave and test cast some of the new TFO range. The Clouser Rods and Bug Launcher kids rods have had plenty of publicity. But we think the Fly Rod Chronicles series will have a huge following. These elegant green 4 piece sticks, with a very sharp gold reel seat have a [...]

Mako Sharks on Fly with Conway Bowman
I’m still kicking myself for not getting around to a trip into the Pacific Ocean with Capt. Conway Bowman, when I was living in Southern California. The above video, taken by some clients of his, makes it even worse. Work permitting I’m going to try to get along to Capt. Bowman’s presentations on mako shark [...]

But occassionally you have to earn your keep by making hard decisions which actually require some thought. Yesterday the Commissioners [...]

Flylife Magazine Issue 57 Now Available
FRESH off the kangaroo mail, the new issue of Flylife Magazine, with a nice article on European nymphing techniques, and how to rig it up. There is also a nice article on one of Australia’s boom fisheries, if you happen to be taking a trip to Northern Australia, happening right now in some relatively new lakes. [...]
Pirates of the Flats _ Bonefishing on ESPN2
THERE is one heck of a long buildup for the Pirate of the Flats series on ESPN2 in January. An impressive cast of anglers includes journalist Tom Brokaw, actor Michael Keaton, novelist Tom McGuane, Lefty Kreh and more. Looks like it will be worth watching.
