The weather really couldn’t have been worse but the Welsh and British Columbians know a bit about rain, and Davy Wotton and April Vokey endured some rather unseasonal July rains to whack some rainbow at the Bull Shoals Dam.
Received a quick report from Davy last night with a couple of cool pics, man they do show the rain.
After a late night chasing Armadillos, we eventually got to bed around 3am. Naturally there was not a early start to the river, in fact we did not launch at BSD till after 11am.
Kind of a cold foggy morning out there and the usual high water, which l knew was going to push up before too long.
April started well getting into BSD Bows, dark clouds loomed overhead and before long we were in it, one heck of a storm, despite the wet and cold, 20,000 cfs and rising water we fished on and more fish came to the net.
The persistent heavy rain got the better of us, by which time April, Tbird and l were wet and cold, it was time to head back to a warm dry house.
Either way for the few hours we spent out there fishing it was great fun, and we will be back again.
